I really enjoyed the Walt and Internationlism series. As a Canadian and former Epcot cast member part 3 most interested me. I have done a little bit of research myself on the various Canada/Disney films and even talked to Mark Eades about the 1982 version of O’Canada a couple years ago.
Perhaps the most interesting fact I learned from the podcast was that the scene with the kids playing hockey on the outdoor rink is from 1967 and repurposed in 2007. I always thought it was a fresh scene with actors in period outfits. But the scene is so quick and it likely got a visual refresh making it feel newer than it actually is.
I also find it interesting that the 1986 film was showed briefly in Epcot after the Expo, but this is rarely mentioned or remembered in Disney history.
A couple corrections – you say that Butchart Gardens is on Victoria Island, it is actually called Vancouver Island. You also say twice that Blythe did the Canada film when i think you mean to say China. These are just minor things though.
Thanks for the great podcasts, very informative and great listen.
