Help finish the film documentary on Tyrus Wong – a 102 year-old Disney artist whose conceptual images helped shape Bambi. Pamela Tom, a filmmaker, has been researching Tyrus’ life for the past 14 years, with an eye toward creating a film documentary called Brushstrokes. It features Tyrus, along with Disney animation historians such as John Canemaker. Today (Tuesday) is the final day to donate to the Kickstarter program. Pamela has raised about $38k, but needs $50k to finish post-production on the film. For a pledge of $38, you’ll receive a DVD of the finished film (mailed to you next year). And if you’re feeling flush, for $5k you’ll also receive an original piece of art signed by Tyrus. We here at DHI feel this is an excellent project to support. You can read more about it here:

Sounds like an excellent project. Glad she made her kickstarter goal and then some.
