Easily one of my favorite shots of the construction at the Magic Kingdom. I think the logistics of the work being done are absolutely brilliant from this photo (seeing as how my father was an Engineer and did this for a living … I was the black sheep, I went into history). Once again, you have Walt’s Admiral (Joseph Fowler) and Walt’s General (Joe Potter) to thank for this. Military precision at work. Although as opening day grew closer, much of this began to fall apart!
Enjoy!
Need a few moment to recognize what we are seeing on this shot… Very nice and interesting picture from the Reedy Creek Energy Services, just aside of the Transportation Maintenance Building (east to west).
The photo looks very antique because of the shot plus the structure of the place. I just wonder why concrete sealer is not that popular during those times. I think it’ll make the place more modern and attractive.
I spent decades as a general building contractor and seeing this just amazes me. Upon observing this shot, I notice the great attention to detail of the engineers.
Geoff: Thanks for your comment. it is amazing. My father was a engineer and building inspector, and he too marveled at the planning and precision. And this is just a small part of the entire project at that time. And all opened without one penny of debt. Thanks, Paul
