Most years Disney creates a unifying theme to bring guests to the Parks, wether it be Let the Memories Begin, One More Disney Day, or Year of a Million Dreams. This year the theme is Limited Time Magic and looks to give guests several great experiences. One thing to note is the name, Limited Time…, meaning that these experiences will only be available for a short period. Some may only last a few days–others, a month.
The one I want to mention at this time, and the one that got me the most excited, is the “return” of The Golden Horseshoe Revue. Todd Pierce and Paul F. Anderson have posted several great articles about this iconic show which you should take the time to go back and read.

Technically… this is NOT a re-staging of the original, “Golden Horseshoe Revue” show. The “tribute” show will be hosted by “Miss Lily” from the second, “Golden Horseshoe Jamboree” show. There will be no comic or male, lead singer. The show will involve the “Miss Lily” character and 3 singers/dancers from both genders. The finale’ will consist of a 3-girl Can-Can… something far less than from the original show. This “tribute” is more of a compilation of musical numbers from the “Revue” and the “Jamboree” productions. Nobody should expect to see anything close to resembling the original, “Revue.” Sad.
I was fortunate to get to see this production recently just by chance! When I discovered what was happening, I was second in line, and waited only 30 minutes for our front row table. I was also happy to share it with friends who had never experienced the original Golden Horseshoe Revue. It was fun, but so much was missing from the original show.
I sure do wish they would bring back the original show! I know that Wally Boag and Betty Taylor are gone, but there are talented people who could recreate the original magic of one of Walt Disney’s favorite attractions, The Golden Horseshoe Revue.
I also miss the Tahitian Terrace!
Our Dad was a friend of Wally Boag. As children, we saw the Golden Horseshoe Revue often and each time Wally would pull a rubber dead chicken out of his bag and say “Say hello to my friend, (Our Dad)” which would embarrass us. I loved his toupee.
